Academic Speaking/Vocabulary SB-2 is a practical online course that helps students master basic speaking skills in an academic setting. The course encourages intermediate students to speak with confidence as they interact with other students and teachers.

Students learn how to give short presentations and participate in classroom discussions. They also practice listening to short presentations.

Academic Speaking/Vocabulary 2 is the first in a series of six courses designed to prepare students for American academics.

The course includes:

  • How to plan and deliver a speech
  • Project-based activities
  • Lead a discussion
  • Pronunciation practice
  • Listening exercises
  • Conversational pointers

B1 Intermediate

Students at the completion of the B1 Intermediate level are able to read short, simple blogs and news stories, identify main ideas and supporting details, and write simple paragraphs on familiar topics.

They are also able to discuss everyday topics in the past and present, give short informative presentations, and understand short lectures on common topics.
